Apple will be closing the exploit which allows users to install emulators on iOS devices. Therefore, if you enjoy playing these old school stylee games you will need to install them now and avoid the iOS 8.1 update coming soon. If you would like to know more about the history of GBA4iOS you should visit the developers blog, rileytestut.com. He has a blog post which goes into great detail explaining how the GBA4iOS came to be and where it is going now that Apple has killed the date trick with iOS 8.1.
Rileytestut stated he couldn’t believe Apple had taken this long to close the hole. He also went on to say he didn’t blame them for doing it. He said, he was exploiting their firmware and violating the agreement. I can only hope Apple will eventually allow these type games to be downloaded in the app store.
How to install GBA4iOS on iOS 8 devices No Jailbreak Needed
Open safari and visit gba4iosapp.com
Once the page has been opened go to settings> General> Date and Time to run back the date at least 24 hrs. I suggest a month to be safe.
Once the date has been set return to the gba4iosapp.com site in safari and tap the install button for the gba4ios 2.0 version.
After installing the gba4ios app on your springboard open the app to be sure it opens properly.
Open another browser page to coolrom.com and download your favorite games.
Once you find your favorite game tap the download now button. You will get a pop up that says “open in”. From here choose “open in” gba4ios app from the share sheets window.
The rom will download inside the emulator app in just a few seconds most likely depending the speed of your network.
Just open gba4ios app and tap the game you wish to play. It will load up and begin playing
Hope you enjoy.
