When rumors (along with photos) of the Apple Watch first surfaced, many grew excited over the beautiful screen and the way app icons were presented. From the home screen, the app icons on the Apple Watch seemed to hover over and could easily be moved around.
But if you’ve been using the Apple Watch for quite some time, you may have discovered having the icons in different sizes could be annoying. It can be difficult spotting an app with a smaller icon, especially if you’re not too familiar with how it looks like yet. As such, using it can be challenging on your part.
Thankfully, there is now a quick way you can make all your app icons on the home screen of your Apple Watch have the same size. With this how to guide, you’ll be able to make all your app icons just the same size and appear bigger on the middle of your interface. You’ll be able to easily tap them whenever you need to.
Here’s how to make your app icons on your Apple Watch bigger:
Step 1: Tap on Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion
Step 2: Enable Reduce Motion switch
You may also access Reduce Motion on your paired iPhone instead of doing it from your Apple Watch.
Step 1: Open Apple Watch companion app
Step 2: Tap on My Watch > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion
Step 3: Enable Reduce Motion switch
After enabling Reduce Motion, the icons across your Apple Watch’s Home screen will appear larger and uniform in size. This is because this action limits animation and automatically resizing the device’s user interface on the Home screen. Instead of a complicated animation you get as a default, you’ll be able to have a more simplistic animation that just fades in and out.
When you enable Reduce Motion, however, the slick animations that you may have fallen in love with on the Apple Watch will be lost. To some extent, this would not really play a big importance for you if you hardly notice these animations. So if this is not really important, you can go ahead and enable the switch.
