One of the many things that users worry about their device is the battery life which forces them to constantly check to make sure it doesn’t run out. This is why you’ll see many battery related tweaks on Cydia. One such interesting tweak is DetailedBatteryUsage by popular and curious developer Hamza Sood.
The tweak unlocks a hidden feature in iOS that allows you to access the internal battery usage menu that Apple uses during testing and development. The tweak provides access to various useful information such as the battery usage of each app, the time when your battery was charging/discharging, total drain in the past 24 hours or 4 days, background usage and many more great deal of details that other tweaks don’t provide.
Other than these, the tweak also provides additional battery usage information about each app that a normal user will not understand, unless you’re a battery geek. If you’re having a problem with your battery life, you’ll definitely find this secret hidden battery menu useful.
Once you install the tweak, all you gotta do is head to the Settings app and navigate to General -> Usage -> Battery Usage to get a detailed insight of the battery usage of your device. At the top of the menu, you’ll see a graph that displays the battery level at different times of the day to give a better insight of the activity of your device and when it’s under heavy load.
It definitely provides information that the stock Battery Usage menu lacks including all the daemons that run on your device and their battery usage. If you’re interested to gain access to the hidden battery usage menu, DetailedBatteryUsage is available on Cydia’s BigBoss repo for free and requires iOS 8 to function properly.
