To be honest, the iOS 7 stock “now playing” interface is boring and dead. It doesn’t any new colors, design or concept to make it more alive and to allow us enjoy the music. The square album cover, a straight line slider and plain music control button sometimes make you feel to stop listening. This new tweak “Spin” makes everything on your lockscreen circular and takes it to the next level.
It makes everything round: the album cover, the scrubber slider and also the music control buttons. At the center, your album cover is displayed with a cool round slider where you can rotate it to skip some parts of the music while the music is being played. At the bottom of the album cover, there are the music control buttons (Previous, Forward, Play/Pause) which allow you to navigate through your music list.
Since it is circular, it takes up less space than the iOS 7 stock feature. Therefore it gives enough room for displaying the large lock screen clock right on top of the song name rather than a small status bar.
The tweak adds a preference pane to your Settings Menu. In it you can enable or disable the tweak as you desire, enable or disable the song cover in background, enable or disable lighter blur, enable or disable dark background, enable or disable larger controls for non-iPdas, enable or disable 24 hours clock, and enable or disable dark cover. You can also choose to have slide to unlock text and also display the status bar clock even though the large lock screen clock is displayed. However, enabling the larger controls for non-iPads is buggy, because the music control button gets re-positioned (getting bigger) nearly touching the bottom of the screen and due to this reason the music control button are not responsive. However the scrubber slider around the album cover still works, but the music control button doesn’t function properly.
If you are looking for a way to spice up your “Now Playing” feature on your lock screen, then this tweak is for you. It is available on Cydia for $0.99.
