The release of iOS 5 has brought many new features to Apple users.  Now, to go with iOS 5, we have the new jailbreak for A5 processor devices as well.  The developers are really cranking out the apps and tweaks in Cydia and Apple alike.

If you haven’t had a chance to jailbreak the iPhone 4S or the iPad 2 I strongly recommend doing so.  It adds great tweaks and features to the device.

Along with iOS 5 we have Siri.  The speaking digital iOS Assistant.  She is very intelligent for the most part.  Siri’s interface and ability have been somewhat limited until the recent jailbreak.  The new jailbreak has given developers the opportunity to tweak the interface and her potential.  Until the recent jailbreak Siri was not able to send tweets, facebook updates, and many more features were limited.  The new tweaks available in Cydia haveadded much more usability for Siri.  We can now send tweets and more.   We are able to change the physical appearance of Siri.  Try some the tweaks below to spice up Siri.

SiriToggles-Allows the user to use voice commands such as turn on/off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or cellular data, you can use phrases such as “enable/disable” or “turn on/off,” followed by what you want to do or launch.  For example – by saying “turn off Wi-Fi” – Siri will respond and will turn-off your WiFi.  It also helped her text better for me.

 

SiriToggles also can be used on older devices with Spire.  This is an awesome addition to Siri for many reason.  I highly recommend this tweak.  I enjoy using Siri before but since the jailbreak she just keeps getting better.  I’m anxious to have Siri cook for me.

 

 

 

 

Sireet –was Developed by Tyler Nettleton aka InfectionFX .  Sireet  is intended for the jailbroken iPhone 4S and adds the ability to tweet using Siri assistant.  After sending the tweet Siri also says, “tweet sent”.  Sireet is available in Cydia through the ModMyi repo for FREE.

 

 

VoiceUtils– Allows the user to open application from inside siri by speaking,  For example, “launch Cydia” would open cydia.  It has many different voice commands available such as reboot, respring, power off, lock, restart, enter safe mode, and more.  There is no icons or settings to configure.  Voice Utils is a free tweak in Big Boss Repo.

 

 

 

Siri Utils: Works much like the previous tweak.  It allows the user to change the brightness, open camera app, twitter, Facebook, and much more.

 

 

 

OpenSiri: Is pretty much just like the others.  This tweak allowe the user to open native iphone applications.  This tweak is free also.  So check it out.

 

 

 

Assistant Extensions: Allows the user to control settings such as brightness, or sbs toggles.  This tweak can search youtube and translate over 30 languages.

 

 

Siri Mic Colors: Allows the user to change the color of the mic on the Siri UI.  This is a simple process done through winterboard. Therefore, it will require winterboard to work.  If you don’t have Winterboard installed at the time of installation of Siri Mic colors it will add irt to the download when you install this tweak.  You will need to download the desired mic color from the this repo.  Here is the repo for this tweak http://repo.technetec.com After installing the repo download the tweak and the mic colors. You will then need to activate the mic colors inside winterboard.  It sound complicated but its very simple.

 

Custom Siri Background– Allows the user to xchange the background of the Siri UI to anything you prefer from the camera or camera roll.

 

 

Hands Free Control-This is my favorite Siri tweak.  It’s hard on the battery but if you are driving you can keep it connected to the AC adapter.  Hands Free does a great job hearing the user and taking commands while without having to be touched in any way.  Simple speak the command to begin Siri listening for commands.  The command can be customized to any word of your choice.    Hands Free Control is $2.99 in the Big Boss Repo.
