Apple is gearing up for its upcoming October 16 event. With the number of products the company is planning to release to the public on that day, there is no denying why many are already getting excited with this much awaited event. For the past years, Apple has kept this event solely for members of the media and others who were able to visit the venue. But with the changing times, Apple has just confirmed through its website that the upcoming event will be streamed live.
On its website, Apple announced that the Oct. 16 event will be streamed through the URL apple.com/live. For those who can remember, this is the same platform that Apple used back in their iPhone 6/Apple Watch event back in September. As the event went on, Apple made sure to update their timeline with tweets, photos and product information. Hopefully this time, the live stream of the event won’t encounter the same issues as the one that last month’s event did.
For those who are still wondering what the event will all be about, Apple is expected to announce their new products– iPads and Mac computers. A new, thinner iPad Air is expected to be announced; which will include Touch ID feature and maybe a less reflective display screen so that the device can be used better outdoors. There are no news yet on whether or not the iPad mini will have the same updates.
Earlier, it was expected that the rumored 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina display will be announced during this event. Unfortunately, Apple will not be unveiling it this week. According to several reports, the device in particular won’t be in production until December. Because of this, its release won’t be until next year.
Despite the fact that the much awaited MacBook Air with Retina display won’t be revealed on Thursday’s event, there are still some notable models that are worth looking out for. Apart from the new iPad Air model, a new line of iMac desktops will be making the rounds this week. If you’re wondering what’s so special about these iMac desktops, well they’ll be equipped with a super high resolution screen for the first time ever.
If you’re looking forward to the Apple announcement on Thursday, be sure to check the URL so you can get updates and access to live streaming as the event goes on. The media event will launch at 10am PDT so make sure you set your alarm for it.
