After a a week after the previous iOS 8.1 beta release, Apple has pushed yet another version of the iOS 8.1 beta to its developers. iOS 8.1 is planned to come later this month with features such as Apple Pay.
The update build number 12B407 and can be downloaded in full on Apple’s Developer Center. It’s worth noting, if you’re running any previous versions of iOS 8 beta, you will be required to download the full IPSW.
There are rumors going around that Apple may finally be decoupling new software and new hardware releases. This — in theory — should help with software bugs when updating to major software releases with new hardware.
In past years Apple has pushed new iOS devices such as the iPhone and iPad, alongside the devices would be major iOS releases.
This year in particular, Apple is having trouble with squashing all the bugs in iOS and OS X. Mainly because Apple has a lot on their plate. With iCloud, Continuity, and Apple Pay, the companies engineers may have issues fixing all of the issues.
The OS X Yosemite Release Candidate v2.0 was also released to developers today. OS X Yosemite is also scheduled to launch later this month. Introducing a fresh new design, and tons of new features to further marry the companies desktop and mobile OS.
If this wasn’t already crazy enough, the company has also pushed OS X Yosemite Public Beta 5 to its million user testing group.
We are currently installing the beta ourselves and will update this post as we find changes. If you notice any changes please contact me via Twitter (screenshots appreciated).
