iPhone Home Button Problems? Many iPhone users have had problems with their home button being unresponsive or less responsive. Whatever the case, there is a solution. The one thing users need to be aware of is pushing the button harder will not help or fix the problem. I know the first thing I want to do if my home button seems to be less responsive is push harder or several times. This is the last thing we need to do. It could even add to the problem more unresponsiveness. If this occurs you have a few options. The first thing you need to try is recalibrating the iphone home button. Sometimes through the software the iOS device is running the home button gets out of calibration. Don’t ask me how or why??? I can offer a solution.
- Open a stock app(weather)
- 2. Press the power button until the slide to unlock appears.
- 3. Gently press Home button and hold
- 4. This will for quit the app you opened. If you are lucky this will fix the problem. If not read on.
Should the steps above be unsuccessful, the other option is a restore. You can restore from a previous backup if you have a lot of data you don’t want to lose or need on the device. However, I recommend doing a new restore. Start completely fresh.
If this doesn’t work you may have to go to the nearest Apple store for warranty trade out. This is taking into consideration you have warranty remaining on the device. If you don’t have a warranty but are mechanically inclined replacing the home button is a minor job and the parts should only cost a few dollars.
