Everyone is already gearing up for Apple’s latest firmware update to release pretty soon. So far, all the information released about the iOS 11 has been rumors. There hasn’t been any confirmation on its features and release date. We have gathered all of these rumors in a post to talk about what to expect from the next firmware update, especially since Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) event is a few months away.
Rumored iOS 11 Features
Here are some of the features that iOS 11 has been rumored to include:
Siri
One of the things we might be able to look forward to on iOS 11 is that it will improve on Siri’s features. A number of reports show that iOS 11 is planning to improve its user’s experience with the digital assistant. The company is reported to take things to the next level by promoting the digital assistant’s products and boost its market share. Apple is said to do these things by releasing a more powerful Siri integration in the latest firmware update.
FaceTime
Apple’s FaceTime platform does not support group video calls. But this might soon change with iOS 11 since rumors are going around that Apple will soon be including this with the video chat app. And really, Apple needs to step up on this to be on par with its competition.
Night Mode
Night mode is actually something that has been rumored to be included in an iOS update for quite some time now. But considering that Apple has made a dark skin style available with tvOS, it would make sense that their next iOS update would carry the same style too. Many are crossing their fingers with iOS 11.
32-bit App Support
In the past, there has been several alerts indicating that Apple will be dropping its support for 32-bit apps. Doing so would actually be good for Apple since it will prevent abandoned apps or the ones that weren’t built on a 64-bit slice. This would be a great way for Apple to purge the apps from the App Store and concentrate on the ones that actually matter.
Apart from these rumored features, there are plenty of other things that iOS 11 is suggested to include when it releases. For now, however, there’s no official word on what new features iOS 11 could be equipped with.
iOS 11 Beta Availability
As is the case with the past iOS update releases, Apple will be unveiling the initial developer version of the firmware on its keynote presentation in the upcoming WWDC. The event is set to take place on June 5th, where the developer beta will be released right away. Public testers however will have a chance to access iOS 11 beta within one or two weeks after its release.
Official iOS 11 Release Date
As for the release date of the software update for the general public, it could be around the same time as the iPhone 8 will launch in late September.
