Today we’ve got quite an interesting jailbreak tweak that you may not have used before. App Activate is a new jailbreak tweak available in Cydia that allows you to assign activator actions for double tap gestures.
App Activate will make an app perform a specific action when you double tap on the app icon. For example, you can double tap on the mail app to compose a new mail. For App Activate to work, you’ll have to install Activator from Cydia. Check out the tweak in action in our video below.
You’ll be able to assign double tap gestures to 5 apps only. To assign a “Compose Mail” action to the email app, follow the instructions below:
- Open Settings and scroll down to App Activate. Tap on it to open the settings pane of App Activate.
- Tap on App 1 and choose Mail.
- Now open activator and tap on “Anywhere”.
- You’ll now see additional 5 options listed below the “App Activate” section of activator. Tap on “App Activate App 1”.
- Scroll down to the “Sharing” section and choose “Compose Mail”.
You’re done now and the “Compose Mail” action will be assigned to the mail app. Now when you double tap on the mail app, a pop up appears where you can compose a mail.
App Activator works flawlessly without any bugs so far and is quite a useful tweak if you want to quickly perform certain actions such as typing a new message, mail or play/pause a music.
